~ Stephen R. Schwartz ~
Experience harmony, rhythm and flow with bodywork that works like the elements. To transcend suffering is to move deeply into it, embracing every feeling and event as it comes. This is the way of deep immersion into the currents of life. This is the way of surrender.
Neurological Bodywork sessions are tailored to your individual needs, incorporating a consult with one or more of the following bodywork modalities; Swedish & deep tissue massage, reflexology, neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral therapy, trigger point and myofascial release, Reiki and acupressure techniques.
Unlike common massage, bodywork is a gateway for you to establish deep connection with your own body, to release areas of tension and befriend areas of tightness; to deepen your attention to your nervous system while freeing locked energy. Bodywork can help you unlock physical and neurological blocks, enhance your awareness of breath and vital life force and generally improve the function, form and feel of your body, mind & spirit.
Human touch is the most sophisticated physical tool in the known universe as our hands operate with the motor complexity of the neuromuscular system combined with sensitivity & intelligence. When we receive conscious aware touch to our body with steadiness of pressure and mindful presence, we open the space to unite the worlds of energy & structure.
So much of life is spent engaged in 'doing' activities and less in just 'being'. Neurological Bodywork sessions are your chance for ‘being'. Being with any emotion, thought or experience that arises. Being free of judgement and criticism. Being free from sorting anything out. Being free to relax and breathe. And being free to connect with & release your quintessence from the dross placed within you by culture, choices and conditioning.
We each have within us a transformational intelligence, so I invite you through the gifts of touch, understanding, simplicity, synchronicity & heartfelt awareness to unwind tension, stress and enter the way of surrender. Each bodywork session begins with a 20 minute conversation for you to be explorative within your presence of being, thus opening the space for mindful presence and restorative grace.
Bodywork modalities included in my practice:
- Cranio-Sacral Therapy: a non-invasive form of somatic bodywork which gently releases sources of tension, allowing the body and mind to naturally self-correct and heal.
- Trigger-Point Therapy: trigger points are areas of high sensitivity within a muscle, often felt as small hard knots of pain which tend to negatively affect posture. Through pincering and posture, pressure is applied to the trigger point to release the muscle tension, improve blood circulation and restore range of movement.
- Myofascial Release: promotes fluidity of movement to applying sustained pressure to areas of restriction and muscle tension. encouraging hydrate of muscles while also reorganizing tight and shortened muscles.
Headaches, jaw pain, and facial tension are influenced by the musculoskeletal system of the skull. This soothing treatment re-balances the structural support of your face & jaw through acupresence, sorft tissue massage, myofascial release & craniosacral therapy. (60min)
Reflexology works through the nervous system to reduce stress & support our body’s ability to heal itself. Be prepared for deep relaxation while specific hand techniques are applied to reflex points of feet, calves & hands. (60 min)
Tip to toe pure relaxation massage with delicious oils & firm nurturing touch to gently soothe your senses, relax your nervous system and decompress your mind, body and soul. (80 min)
Combining long relaxing strokes with deep tissue sculpting to help unravel muscular fixations and postural stress. Myofascial release, reflexology, acupressure and massage techniques naturally blend together for leading you into deep stillness, mindful embodiment and restoration. (95 min)
